Paintings by Sofia Hardy
I decided to rearrange these pages to feature Sofia's latest work first. Sofia's Art has developed and changed continuously over the years, and these days it seems almost as if each new painting is a step beyond the one before, and each small layoff produces a quite staggering change in both the outer form and inner content of her paintings. So I thought it would make for a more exciting Art section to show Sofia's most recent work first.
Sofia uses a very intriguing technique, building up layer upon layer of iridescent media and texture gels which give her paintings great depth and a super charged, almost extra dimensional quality which makes them visually very exciting. The delicacy and luminescence of the layers makes the paintings very alive as they alter throughout the day with the changing quality of the light. And like a forest with sunlight dappling through the leaves, or moonlight rippling over the sea they also hint at the magic that exists beyond the everyday reality of this world.
All of the paintings here are for sale, or if you like you can commission a painting directly from Sofia. She is happy to work from photographs, so distance is no object. The payment method used is paypal, but if you'd like to use a different payment method just email me and I'll try to accommodate you if I can. Postage is £25 which includes postal insurance.
